A Victoria(n) Memory…

Outfit of the day

I cant recall the last time that I step foot in one of the most famous landmarks of Kolkata…the Victoria Memorial. I have some vague recollection of peeping down from some balcony inside and looking at the glass cabinets below as a kid. This majestic structure sits amid the lushest of greens that the city has to offer right in the heart of it. On a warm early evening I was standing outside the low wall of the surrounding fence looking at the structure and felt captured somehow…how many times have I passed it by…how many times I have glanced it from a moving car…but standing there actually looking at it I felt like I was in a different time. The ticket counter was over flowing with people and for the first time in my life I saw a huge snake line wanting to get into the place. People all around, chattering away, calling out to each other…but I was caught in a bubble just gazing at the memorial immune to what was happening around me. All these gorgeous colors shimmering in the setting sun…the fresh greenery, the pale grey pebbles leading up to the monument, the tall lamp made like the old gaslights adorning London streets, bright brick pathways and the piece de resistance this huge white monument dominating it all. It has this quality of capturing your attention and keeping it there…like a queen gazing down at her subjects. There couldn’t have been a better setting for the start of a new series of fashion posts on an all new blog 🙂

I love how the pictures have turned out and I hope you liked them too. This is the work of an amazing photographer – Souvik Dutta, who just started into blogging 6 months back. He has a great eye for detail and you must check out his blog to see what I mean. I hope I can bring you more collaborations with him in the future 🙂 Btw did you check out my neat watch?!? Isnt it amazeballs!?! It is from a company called JORD which is based in America. Can you imagine the intricate work that must have gone into crafting such a piece. You need to check out their site and see some of the designs they carry. There is a gorgeous rose gold dial one that I have my eye on! They carry an extensive range for both men and women, offering you the ability to customize as per your size. How neat is that. You can choose from a variety of colors and wood base. It will make someone an excellent gift. I love the wooden box that it came in. They ship internationally and I got mine within 7-10 days of dispatch. The rest of the outfit details I will leave them below. Do let me know what you think of this look. I will catch you soon!
